چکیده

The electromagnetic ultrasound detection technology provides an efficient method to inspect the structural health status. For pipeline structure, guided ultrasonic wave propagating along axial direction has been focus of current research. However, helical owns advantage obtaining defect information in extra angles and not explored sufficiently. In this work, a transducer with sector configuration is designed for generating shear horizontal waves pipeline. magnetostrictive effect analyzed, model built finite element simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics. field displacement distribution are studied. To evaluate performance transducer, half divergence angle defined measure acoustic beam capacity waves. Corresponding experiments also implemented analyze influencing factors design transducer. results indicate that pulse cycle affects slightly. compromise should be considered when designing central because it influences signal amplitude further imaging resolution contradictory way.

High Temperature Shear Horizontal Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer for Guided Wave Inspection

Guided Wave Testing (GWT) using novel Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducers (EMATs) is proposed for the inspection of large structures operating at high temperatures. To date, high temperature EMATs have been developed only for thickness measurements and they are not suitable for GWT. A pair of water-cooled EMATs capable of exciting and receiving Shear Horizontal (SH₀) waves for GWT with optimal...

a novel and ultra low cost isfet electrode and measurement system was designed for isfet application and detection of hydronium, hydrazinium and potassium ions. also, a measuring setup containing appropriate circuits, suitable analyzer (advantech board), de noise reduction elements, cooling system and pc was used for controlling the isfet electrode and various characteristic measurements. the t...

Optimization of a Focusable and Rotatable Shear-Wave Periodic Permanent Magnet Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducers for Plates Inspection

Due to the symmetry of conventional periodic-permanent-magnet electromagnetic acoustic transducers (PPM EMATs), two shear (SH) waves can be generated and propagated simultaneously in opposite directions, which makes the signal recognition and interpretation complicatedly. Thus, this work presents a new SH wave PPM EMAT design, rotating the parallel line sources to realize the wave beam focusing...

Pulse mode shear horizontal-surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) system for liquid based sensing applications.

In this work, we describe a novel pulse mode shear horizontal-surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) polymer coated biosensor that monitors rapid changes in both amplitude and phase. The SH-SAW sensors were fabricated on 36 degrees rotated Y-cut X propagating lithium tantalate (36 YX.LT). The sensitivity of the device to both mass loading and visco-elastic effects may be increased by using a thin guidi...
